17th & 18th SEPTEMBER 2016

The Wales International Balloon Festival, formerly known as the Llangollen Balloon Festival, aims to be one of the premier balloon festivals in the UK.

Being located in the beautiful village of Llangollen, North Wales gives our visitors the chance to see the beautiful rolling hills of the Clwydian Range as well as being very close to the Snowdonia National Park and the mountains of Snowdon, The Glyders and numerous Moels. It is possibly one of the most scenic areas in the UK and the perfect place to embark on a balloon flight.

The number and quality of hot air balloonists that have expressed an interest and booked a slot at the balloon festival means that we are re-establishing ourselves as one of the balloon festivals not to be missed in the UK. Some of the hot air balloons are very large and are all shapes and sizes and once inflated, some of them will stand over 100ft tall taking between 250,000 and 400,000 cubic feet of air to fill.

Commercial Balloons

Although there are no balloon flights arranged through the Wales International Balloon Festival there are commercial organisations that offer this service. Some of these balloons have large baskets which can carry 10, 12 or 16 passengers at a time. However, children must be aged seven or over and at least 4ft 6in (1.4m) tall, with children under the age of 16 accompanied by a responsible adult. Also, some of the hot air balloons baskets will have weight and space restrictions and anyone who is 20 stone or more may have to pay a supplement.

We are sure that you will have a great time at the Wales International Balloon Festival and our aim is to be one of the premier balloon festivals in the UK and the best in Wales
